Background: Makoto is just an average every day student who hates going to school (and usually, you'll see him sneaking out during class to go hang around the mall until he gets caught and sent straight back to school.). There's nothing particullary interesting about him except that his family has a huge debt problem, along with having 6 younger siblings he spends most of his time after school working alot of random part time jobs. Though, he has a huge hate for his mother and father who don't know how to take care of their children right.

He goes to Gekkoukan high because it's closer to all his jobs at the mall. He also somehow manages to pay for his attendance in Gekkoukan High by doing small jobs after school for the staff through a deal. He works for the school during the Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and other days he works for other jobs. One day after having stayed late at school from work as he was on his way home he noticed that everything was different.. And, this was when he found out about the Dark Hour. Though, he's thought up till now that it was his imagination going wild from eating too much instant food. So, whenever he's encountered the Dark Hour he's taken up to his mind that's all in his imagination and that going home as fast as he can is his top priority.

When, he got the invitation for SEES he defintly feels very reluctant... Up till now he's had trouble just paying for decent meal everyday, and now he's expected to protect a whole dang city, move away from his family and still manage to pay for his family's daily lives? Heck no, he wasn't sticking up with that. So, he turned down the offer.

Though, as soon as he went home he found that one of his youngest siblings missing.. and the next day found to have Apathy Syndrome.

This made Makoto change his mind and finally accept the offer to join SEES. Though, he is very reluctant on accepting his new "job" which he doesn't, you know, get PAID for!
Personality: Makoto is a very fun loving guy who wants to have fun in his life, though having to work all the time sort of ruins that. Maybe that's why he's always skipping classes for the mall. He also has a strong obsession with money, if you drop even a little slimmer of it he'll dive for it and claim it as his own from now on. So, it's suggested you keep any sort of monkey you have on you good in your pockets if he's around.

Makoto also likes things CHEAP. Cheap clothes, cheap food, cheap anything! If there's a sale going down at the grocery store or mall, you can be sure he'll be the first one there in that line of house wives!

Though, while at school, he admittedly, doesn't have any friends at school due to always having to work. Though, his fun loving personality makes him fun to hang out with while he does have time to talk it doesn't necessarily mean he'll always hang out with you after that. Alot of people at school have actually started a rumor about him saying he's a loner and is always busy doing "cool" things. Though, once you talk to him for real you can obviously tell that this is a bunch of bull crud lies.
